Cataclysm: Bright Nights is a roguelike that takes you to a slightly futuristic world, where society has succumbed to a zombie epidemic. You are one of the few remaining survivors. Your goal in this game is not to save the world, because that is no longer possible. The best you can hope for here is finding hot food and surviving another day.

A new world in every game

As in every good roguelike, a new world will be procedurally generated when you start a new game in Cataclysm: Bright Nights. Within your unique game world there are cities full of buildings and houses, rural areas, roads, factories, cars and, of course, a whole host of zombies. Each new game offers a new experience, allowing you to play out a completely new story. However, if you like the world you generated, you can revisit it with another character if yours dies.

Total freedom to do as you please

Cataclysm: Bright Nights allows you to do whatever you want. The only goal is survival. With this in mind, how you choose to go about it is up to you: become a stealthy lone wolf sneaking into houses looking for cans of food, or a ruthless killer armed to the teeth laying waste to all the zombies in your path. It's up to you. You will have hundreds of objects to interact with, facilitating different types of gameplay. Here you can throw Molotov cocktails at zombies, use lock picks on locked doors, hunt animals with precision rifles, drive vehicles at full speed on the highway, and much, much more.
